リノベーションは、設計者の総合的な建築的な知見が試される仕事だと思う。意匠だけでなく、構造・断熱・法規、すべてを同時に扱う必要がある。
築30年の木造2階建て、1階内部のリノベーション。要望に応えながら、さらにその先を考えた。リビング・ダイニング・キッチンのそれぞれに天井高の差をつけることで、空間にヒエラルキーと変化を生み出した。当時の申請図面と既存建物に多少の相違があったが、丁寧な構造検討を重ねることで構造・断熱補強も実現した。
